The former cattle sheds of the model farm Lactaria have been repurposed and given a new function as care homes. The characteristic, elongated building with its gabled roofs and historic façade details retains its original charm, while modern amenities enhance the quality of life.
The estate is developed into a combination of care homes, new-build homes and terraced houses. The care homes have been realised in the historic buildings on the street side, while three blocks of new-build homes have been constructed behind the monumental building.
All buildings are equipped with subtly integrated Mystiek solar roof tiles, allowing sustainable energy generation to blend seamlessly with the historic character of the estate. Stevenshof is thus an example of how cultural heritage, modern living comfort and environmentally conscious living can be combined in a respectful and harmonious way.
