On this page, you’ll find a detailed overview of the steps involved in transforming your roof into a solar energy powerhouse. From understanding your energy needs to the final installation, we ensure every detail aligns with your vision and requirements.
Let’s get started on creating your roof of the future—today.
1
ORIENTATION PHASE
Curious how a Solinso roof will look on your home, and how it will impact its appearance? The starting point for a stunning solar roof is your desired aesthetic. The choices made at this stage can affect technical feasibility, so we invite you to consider a few key elements:
- Rooftile make, model, and color: Shiny black rooftiles pair beautifully with our lightly textured black solar tiles. But did you know Solinso also offers different colors and textures for an even better match?
- Roof edge finishing: When a roof is fully tiled, there’s little flexibility to vary its width. A roof edge with concealed gutters can solve this and gives the roof a sleek, modern look.
- Design features and obstacles: Elements such as dormers, roof windows, ventilation ducts, and chimneys may affect the available area for solar panels. Their position should be carefully considered to maximize energy potential.
2
ENERGY REQUIREMENTS
Understanding your energy needs is essential for all homeowners interested in solar panels. Everyone uses energy—but how much? This can be broken down into a few main categories:
- Appliances and lighting: For most family households, this accounts for 3,000–4,000 kWh per year.
- Heating and cooling: These systems can be highly energy-intensive, depending on the house’s design. If your home is currently heated with gas, there may be little to no electricity consumption—but is that future-proof? Switching to an all-electric system could triple your electricity usage.
- Transportation: A petrol-powered car uses no electricity—but for how much longer? Switching to an electric vehicle can add several thousand kWh to your annual energy consumption.
3
DESIGN PHASE
Once your energy needs are clear, we’ll calculate how many solar tiles are needed. We differentiate between new builds and renovations. Unfortunately, Solinso solar roof tiles are less suited for integration into existing roofs without renovation.
This phase results in a detailed roof design, showing the layout of the solar tiles, technical sizing, and tile selection. Once finalized, we provide a comprehensive quotation.
4
QUOTATION PHASE
Who will install the Solinso tiles? What kind of support is needed? This phase focuses on organization and logistics. The quotation outlines these details clearly.
In most cases, our quotations are submitted to a local contractor. Occasionally, we deliver directly to homeowners who are experienced with DIY installation.
5
EXECUTION PHASE
During execution, the contractor takes the lead—handling work preparation, panel mounting, electrical installation, and system commissioning. Solinso provides clear guidelines throughout the process and, upon request, can offer on-site support.
